The Search for El Salvador

The video in this story was shot on SD video, long before HD, much less 4K video cameras. So  it’s hard to consider it a piece a beautiful example of work judging by those standards. But I kept it because it tells just a small bit about a fantastic journey, one that continues to this day. Phil Masters, the founder of Intersal, and the man who is responsible for finding the pirate Blackbeard’s flagship, the Queen Anne’s Revenge, passed away in 2007. But his dream of finding the Spanish treasure ship, El Salvador is not lost. His son, John Masters continues the search. And in summer 2017 I hope to be in North Carolina with John, shooting a new documentary about the search.
